Nowadays, we are being encouraged to see "government" as a business, using terms like "revenue shortfall" and "deficit budget" to hide the ugly truth .... income tax is a multi-generational ponzi scheme, and the services that the politicians "provide" are being farmed out to corrupt lobbies based on either pork barreling or campaign promises. It is far from a government "for, of and by the people", and it is even farther from being "free enterprise". Government ought to be restricted to dictating what the citizens CAN do (civil rights), what they CAN'T do (criminal law and punishment) and what they MUST do ( licenses, permits, inspections, taxes etc.) All the direction for what benefits "society" should come from the communities in which people live.Blair Hamiltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12788632668250115100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2992740250270600844.post-34737454891334776352013-06-04T19:31:46.251-07:002013-06-04T19:31:46.251-07:00Well said, unfortunately the same can not be said ...Well said, unfortunately the same can not be said of government supported enterprises. Government does not destroy "unproductive and wasteful jobs". Many of my post deal with the idea of overreaching and growing government. If you have time please glance back at some of my past articles, like those about the US Postal Service and the penny. It should be noted that much of Government lurks, and is hidden behind quasi government units like utilities and a massive and growing number of mandates.<br /><br /> http://brucewilds.blogspot.com/2012/12/government-includes-quasi-government.html Bruce Wildshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10181323607060607040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2992740250270600844.post-8314168672664721402013-06-02T10:40:03.021-07:002013-06-02T10:40:03.021-07:00"The nature of free enterprise destroys unpro..."The nature of free enterprise destroys unproductive and wasteful jobs"<br />If the laws of supply and demand are limited to enterprises that produce some kind of benefit for society, I would agree that the "market" would police itself, but 90% of the paying "jobs" are simply opportunities to serve the unsustainable gambling casino that calls itself "The Economy". An intelligent species would have to distinguish between industry and enterprise. If all financial transactions were exclusive to necessary industry then the rest of human enterprise could be free, thereby "sorting out" the existing confusion.Blair Hamiltonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12788632668250115100noreply@blogger.com
