A first in world history. It all started back in the early 70's when Richard Nixon took the US off the gold standard.

Which is why when the US economy goes belly up it will take the world with it. Remember all the chaos that small countries such as Cyprus and Greece caused to world market? Now just imagine when the US economy finally fails.Rod Briggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01892085143658761123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2992740250270600844.post-6572058476340391782021-05-27T09:12:06.786-07:002021-05-27T09:12:06.786-07:00Finally people are waking up, but sadly it's t...Finally people are waking up, but sadly it's too late. The govt. has been borrowing and spending like a drunken sailor for over 30 years now, and it's only gotten worse over the past 15 years what with the financial crisis and Covid-19. The feckless and dishonest politicians know that they cannot raise taxes enough to cover the spending so they borrow. All these trillions of dollars coming into the economy from either foreign lenders or the Federal Reserve must eventually have an effect on prices, and now we're really seeing it. Unfortunately, this will never end as there's no way out for the govt. except for default which would kill confidence and ruin our credit. If it's any consolation, we're not alone, as almost every other country in the world is heavily indebted and borrowing and printing money.Dave2020https://www.blogger.com/profile/15839510248960245602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2992740250270600844.post-27623426731177778912021-05-25T07:20:02.680-07:002021-05-25T07:20:02.680-07:00Inflation is a hidden tax on society. I have racked my brain as to how to hedge against this cancer seeing how all exits to this ominous maze have been closed or guarded and have concluded the only safe hedges are tangible necessities and possibly bitcoin and gold and silver if they lose their death grip on it. In order to keep the global financial economy from going belly up, those in charge have to LIE, LIE, LIE to give everyone a false sense of normalcy. But when you look at supermarket prices, rent prices etc and you get to factor in product shrinkage, your quickly realize that those in charge i.e. The Fed and the Government are pulling the wool over Joe and Joan Sixpack.

Economist John Williams from Shadowstats.com has the y/y inflation rate at least in the 15% range if you calculated the CPI as it was done in the 80's. If the lying stopped and The Fed quit injecting monetary methadone into the system, it would implode rather quickly. The debt can never be repaid and all they have left is to try and inflate their way out of the global financial malaise we will be in until the day the music stops.Rod Briggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01892085143658761123noreply@blogger.com
