RussianGate, Collusion, Meddling, And False Flags

The subject of Russian meddling in the American election process seems a subject that will never go away. By now most people seem to have made up their mind as to whether they are outraged, simply concerned or take the attitude this is all "much ado about nothing".  Two things for sure are that this contentious debate continues to stir the waters and polarize the nation while creating some rather strange alliances. Suddenly we find progressive liberal Democrats that in the past formed the backbone of the antiwar movement siding with the warmongering Russian hating Republicans. Together they pledge to protect us and democracy from the evil force of Russian propaganda.

If it was the GOAL of Russia to create discord, disruption and chaos within the U.S. then, with all of the Committee Hearings, Investigations and Party hatred, they have succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. They are laughing their asses off in Moscow. Get smart America!

Are The Russians Coming Or Are We Being Played?

When former CIA chief James Woolsey did his patriotic deep-state-duty and appeared on Fox News to push the narrative of how dastardly the Russians have been in their meddling with the sacred soul of America's democracy it left some of us more afraid of the Deep State than the enemy he chastised. Currently, a full-scale propaganda war rages with many Americans hellbent on convincing the rest of us Putin is a thug and a bully. For years Putin has been the focus of those busy creating an enemy for America that allows the military complex and the government intelligence agencies to expand and thrive. We have every reason to be concerned and worried considering revelations of just how big these agencies have grown since 9-11 and how unlimited their spying and surveillance operations have become. Anyone who doesn't believe that countries use psychological warfare and propaganda to sway the opinions of people both in and outside of their country should be considered naive.

Whether you view Robert Mueller as fair and honorable or as another shill of the Deep State's hideously inflated military, intelligence and surveillance operations tend to play into a person's opinion of what is unfolding. Several investigations into collusion with the Russians, meddling in the elections and such have worked their way into this "RussiaGate" and generally mindless, anti-Putin hysteria. This includes so-called "shocking" indictments of some Russian trolls working out of a nefarious"troll farm" in St. Petersburg. To put this in context Clinton and her PAC spent about $66 million a month in 2016, a whopping 53 times more money than Russia’s $1.25 million monthly budget. It’s also worth noting that according to the Mueller indictment not all of the money spent by the Russian operation was used to campaign for President Donald Trump.

To be perfectly blunt, those who support Trump feel the whole Russian thing is a witch hunt orchestrated by Washington insiders. When it comes to Russia's ability or desire to probe or scan state voter systems in the future many Americans simply yawn and figure we will plug the holes before then. Furthermore, most of these people wonder why Trump is taking all the heat while all the shenanigans Obama and Hillary pulled continue to get swept under the rug. Adding to their dismay and angst is Muller and all the investigations that move forward on pathetic low-level charges and by blackmailing anyone that ever knew Trump to testify or have their lives destroyed. Another interesting side of this that is somewhat in the wind and very bizarre is we now find anti-war candidate Trump has aligned himself with the military possibly to keep the Deep State at bay.

Almost All World Leaders Attempt To Influence Events

The fact is almost all world leaders and countries attempt to throw their weight around and influence events that are about to unfold. If you remember prior to our election Mexico had nothing good to say about Donald Trump and could even have been accused of being in a full court press to discourage Latinos from voting for him. Taking the idea of trying to influence a vote to even a higher level, just prior to Britain's vote on Brexit then sitting American President Obama visited the country and warned, or you might say even threatened, that a vote to exit the Euro-zone would result in moving Britain to the "back of the line" when it came to negotiating a new trade agreement with America. The fact that few Americans felt or indicated his statements were totally out of line added to the appearance that America is more than a little hypocritical considering our history of meddling in the affairs of other countries.

Returning to the subject of strange bedfellows or unlikely alliances I want to point out how ironic it was that when President Trump bombed Syria early in April of 2017 following a sarin gas attack on the Syrian people he garnered the praise of both the neocons and liberals who believe in intervention. It seems the group least impressed with his actions were those who actually put Trump in office hoping things would change and Trump would end America's policy of constantly involving itself in conflict after conflict. Those fixated on Russia and obsessed with it trying to influence our election may be a bit paranoid. Whether as a result of past propaganda messages flowing from our government or in an effort to support America's intelligence agencies is some ways they open the door and pave the way for more growth in this sector of the government.

Psychological warfare and propaganda are real weapons and have become as powerful as bombs. Psychological games which influence the mental and emotional state of a person are geared to undermine or shape opinions and twisted to suit the agenda of those in power. The problem is this sector of the government and economy has grown bigger and stronger and by its very nature it seeks to quietly expand and take more control. As an example look at part of this apparatus known as the NGA.  It should be pointed out most Americans have never heard of this agency  It is also known as the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and they recently announced plans for a new $1.75 billion facility to be located in St. Louis. 

The Ugly Truth, Money Is Being Wasted And Squandered

The person responsible for bringing much of what we know about the massive size of what is referred to as the "deep state" and for giving us an indication of what it does is Edward Snowden a former National Security Agency contractor. Snowden has become a polarizing figure, some Americans consider him a whistle-blower who sacrificed his career and freedom to inform the American people of government intrusion into their private lives, and others view Snowden’s motives as less than noble. It is not unexpected that those running different divisions of this colossal spy network would be a little miffed at Snowden and want his head on a stick because articles then reported how the surge in CIA resources funded secret prisons, a controversial interrogation program, the deployment of lethal drones and a huge expansion of its counterterrorism center.

The bottom-line is that today conspiracy theories and "false flags" are everywhere so we have good reason to be suspicious. It seems governments across the world often manipulate mainstream media to generate propaganda by spreading vague unproven speculation and quoting unnamed sources. The contemporary term false flag describes covert operations that are designed to deceive us by appearing as though they are being carried out by someone other than those who actually planned and executed them. Every time the media goes into an anti-Trump frenzy it raises the hatred and galvanizes people on both sides of the "Russian" issue dividing the nation even more. This is exacerbated by the fact many people may not understand that reports of allegations or an indictment are not proof someone is guilty of a crime and even pleading guilty does not mean someone committed a crime but is often used as a strategy of containment.

While we are constantly reassured the main goal of these clowns is the protection of America and democracy it is difficult to forget the words of Lord Acton who back in 1887 wrote, Power tends to corrupt and absolute power tend to corrupt absolutely. This combined with the warnings of writer George Orwell lingering in our minds about the ability of governments to morph into police states are constant reminders that we should be aware of the potential of abuse and that we may be well on our way to becoming no more than slaves to those we have empowered to serve us. With this in mind, it is interesting to speculate as to how Trump and his administration might have developed if this whole "Russian meddling" thing had not built to a such a point. Things would most likely be very different.


Footnote; In the Fox News interview mentioned earlier in the article, James Woolsey was asked, "Have we ever tried to meddle in other countries' elections? to which he answered, "Oh probably... but it was for the good of the system..." Later he also admitted that we have meddled in the Democratic elections of other nations "in the interests of democracy."
