Propaganda Convinces Us Its All For The Greater Good (part 3)

Propaganda Shapes Public Opinion!
Propaganda tends to become a self-feeding loop that plays a huge role in shaping public opinions which ultimately result in the government being able to slowly hack away at our constitutional rights. Call it what you want, propaganda or fake news, it is more or less the same thing and we are bombarded with it on a daily basis. This will continue to expand in the future considering the many new tools at the disposal of those wishing to both control and deceive us. Already fake news and false flags have left many of us having a difficult time deciding what is real. To make matters worse the rapidly growing ability of computers to generate human images is about to take this to a whole new level as this deceptive and potentially dangerous area of technology starts to become horribly abused.

Anyone who doesn't believe that countries use psychological warfare and propaganda to sway the opinions of people both in and outside of their country is naive. Too many people across the world America is more than a little hypocritical when we criticize other countries for trying to "gain influence" considering our history of meddling in the affairs of others. The harsh reality is that at the intersection of "Propaganda and Surveillance" we find a place where after government has convinced us we are safer if they watch over us they then convince us it would be good if we had a little more control over people using a system that rewards good people like us. This translates into making the obese exercise more, making people obey the rules of society, and simply making them a little more like us. The message of "don't worry be happy" is an illusion and a hoax, the trade-off that allows us to give someone that control is based on the faith they are trustworthy to act in and for the greater good, however, governments have a horrible record in this regard.

An Example Of The Lies We Are Fed
The source of much of the polarization we face may, in fact, flows from the same mainstream media that is almost giddy over the problems Facebook has created by playing fast and loose with data from its followers. Currently, Facebook faces multiple investigations to find out just how far over the line they went in abusing the trust of those with accounts and information posted on Facebook. In truth, all these players are involved in a game that polarizes America making it impossible for the people to regain control, the sad reality is that "Power To The People" is dead because we are unable to agree on anything but even more unsettling is the alliances companies like Amazon have made with the government evidenced by the massive contract their cloud division has with the CIA and NSA.

Americans have every reason to be concerned and worried considering revelations of just how big the government intelligence agencies have grown since 9-11. Considering how unlimited their spying and surveillance operations have become it is easy to make the case this is completely out of control. As the tools of surveillance expand it is difficult for many of us skeptical of those in power to think they will do the right thing. If these people do betray us it is easy to imagine how quickly the nooses will tighten around our necks as they continue to promote the message "it is all about creating a better world." To be clear, the governments taking more control is occurring across the globe and many people see it as an effort to solidify globalization as our leaders come together by selling out their countries to bring about a New World Order. It appears this has been a vision of the rich and politically powerful for decades as they grab for more and more power and a greater share of the world's wealth. As pointed out in article two of this series China has been rapidly moving down this path with little resistance from a population that is well conditioned to conform after decades of communist rule. China has even gone so far as to place somewhere around a million on its citizens in so-called "re-education camps" to promote what the government calls “ethnic unity.”

India Has Already Been Brought Into The Fold
A report in The Wall Street Journal noted that India’s top court has ruled in a 4-1 decision that a new program already well on its way is constitutional with a few conditions they outlined. Just recently India confirmed its progress in moving down this path claiming that more than one billion people have been signed up.  India kicked this off about seven years ago as a nationwide bio-metric ID database they claimed was "necessary" as part of upgrading their “social welfare” program to assist the millions of people with no banking connection. Wrapping the program into an effort to streamline welfare distribution and reduce corruption by using photos, finger and eye scans. At the time it sparked an intense global debate over how far a democracy should be able to go in collecting the personal data of its citizens and how that data could and would be used, shared and protected.

Countries both democratic and autocratic are one by one taking on such programs creating the blueprints for others to follow. The growing use of biometrics for airline travel and other forms of  “elective identification" in countries of more than a billion people make it very unlikely the U.S. population of 350 million will be protected by its own Constitution. A quote garnered from author Philip K. Dick (1928-1982) who wrote 36 science fiction novels and 121 short stories in which he explored the essence of what makes man human and the dangers of centralized power speaks to the issue of the traits needed to survive in such a totalitarian environment;

“If, as it seems, we are in the process of becoming a totalitarian society in which the state apparatus is all-powerful, the ethics most important for the survival of the true, free, human individual would be: cheat, lie, evade, fake it, be elsewhere, forge documents, build improved electronic gadgets in your garage that’ll outwit the gadgets used by the authorities.”

Unfortunately, these are the very traits modern technology is wringing out of society at a time when countries are stepping up pressure to move towards a cashless society which will further limit privacy and the ability of a person to move about in the shadows. Throughout history, hope has always come from our youth but even there the system has corrupted free thought. In universities, the power of intellectuals has been manipulated upping the value of opinions educators pass on and making them key in influencing future decisions that sway the masses. He who owns the gold makes the rules and hands out the baubles and rewards to the universities which spawn the ideas future generations will embrace. The idea of a "safe space" and banning certain ideas and speech only tightens governments ability to control the masses.

The fact Amazon's CEO also owns the Washington Post, which stands as America's most influential newspaper, should send shivers down the back of those believing in freedom and limited government. Behemoth Amazon has intertwined business interest with the CIA, NSA, and several other "Deep State" government agencies and its CEO's reach is a monument to the fact we have lost control of the massive part of our government that spies on us and spins the narratives to which we dance. this has unleashed a force to which none of our institutions can resist. Propaganda is a powerful tool and has been the cause of many wars that have enriched those who make weapons at the expense of those called upon to give their blood.
