With all the things that are going on would it surprise you that before long the government may take away your right to drive. While this may sound absurd, please bear with me. For years in my state, a question that is on every driver's test is, Is driving a right or a privilege? Of course, the answer is, it is a privilege. If you ask the Department of
Motor Vehicles (DMV) in your state expect them to agree. Driving isn’t something just anyone can do. Not
legally anyway. It’s a privilege that’s earned by showing you have the
skills and knowledge to drive safely.
Sorry, This Car Only Comes As A Self-driver |
After only a few months of living in a Covid-19 world, it has become clear those in charge can change the rules in a blink of an eye. The idea the world is moving in the direction of removing this so-called privilege started to emerge just a few years ago. Now several trends are rapidly coming together which makes this much more probable, a few are listed below.
* self-driving vehicle technology is rapidly improving
* People are becoming more comfortable with the idea of car sharing
* Many people cannot afford an automobile
* Central banks are rapidly moving into social engineering and fighting climate change
* Several companies have floated the idea of developing fleets of robo-taxis
Just the other day Apple threw its hat into the ring when it announced its intention to move forward with developing self-driving car technology. According to Reuters, Apple is targeting 2024 to produce a passenger vehicle. Make no mistake, this has the potential to derail Elon Musk's plan for Tesla to put out a million robotaxis. This places Apple in the position of competing with others with major self-driving projects, including Tesla and Google/Alphabet's Waymo project which stands for a new way forward in mobility.
Adding to the validity that Apple is serious about moving in this direction, Reuters also reported Apple's cars
might include sensors and a new "monocell designed battery" that has been developed internally at Apple. Such a battery could be a much-needed breakthrough in battery technology. The lack of better batteries is one of
the biggest problems currently facing the EV industry. A new battery design that could
"radically" reduce battery cost and increase a vehicle's range. A better battery has been seen as the holy grail of the EV industry.
And It's Gone |
They could also ban human-operated vehicles from entering certain areas. Another way to choke off our desire to own and operate a vehicle is to sever our ability to get fuel or parts by making them either more expensive or impossible to get. One or all of these tools would substantially reduce the desire to drive for many people. Remember this is about those in power being able to assert their power over the masses. This can be tied to a narrative that it is being done for the greater good and the claim it will massively reduce climate change by cutting waste and making society more efficient.
While some of you may have a difficult time imagining a world in which you would be totally dependent on a self-driving vehicle to get around, the writing is already on the wall. Even at the early stage of their development, some carmakers are already suggesting or claiming that self-driving vehicles will reduce accidents to nearly zero and save thousands of lives each year. The problem is many people enjoy driving and the freedom that comes with it. Some of us have absolutely no desire to own a self-driving car.
In the world I have described, only the rich and powerful would have a car and be granted the privilege to drive them. For those of you that doubt this could happen or be the goal of our new masters, I remind you few people would have ever predicted many of the Orwellian tactics governments across the world have used to squelch this pandemic that has killed far fewer people than originally predicted.

It should be noted that when a company with the market cap of Apple and a great deal of money decides to move into the auto industry it can buy all or most of a struggling automaker. This would give them an instant production capacity. This means Apple can rapidly jump into the EV market.
ReplyDeleteJust read your article and have something for you to consider:
DeleteIF I hire you as my driver, is it your RIGHT to force me to hire you or if I take you on will it be a privilege? Also, for my drivers I don't care who's else's "license" you have bcs I will test you and issue a license to you to drive FOR me just like if you enter my private property you need a license from me to do so legally otherwise you would be trespassing.
ALL of the "states" are federal municipal corporations and YES driving for a municipal corporation or ANY entity is indeed a privilege. Unless you rebut this the "court" takes Silent Judicial Notice of this - that you are driving FOR the corporation - UNLESS your rebut it through process.
HOWEVER, driving for yourself is a RIGHT, the is NO STATE LAW in any state requiring anyone to obtain a driver's license and in fact, under the US Constitution there is NO AUTHORITY for the government to issue ANY license for any purpose. And there is a PLETHORA of state cases supporting this for those who know how to get relief.
Finally, at the turn of the last, last century some folks got the bright idea of raising a revenue by causing attorneys to be licensed. It was roundly shot down as being totally unconstitutional ergo attorneys have no license from any state but merely a BAR Card with a BAR Number. Every attorney I have ever encountered I have asked to see their state license and NADA. In open court I have looked at the prosecutor and stated, "I will show you my "License to Practice Law (also a RIGHT btw)" if you will show me yours - checkmate...
Magna Carta preserves your lawful right to travel. A license by definition allows you to do what would otherwise be illegal. Therefore, when you accept a drivers license you are now a commercial operator (a driver) and the right to travel becomes a privilege. You become subject to man's laws and not the law of nature.
DeleteThis might not be so much about whether it is a right or privilege. It is more about if the option to own a vehicle and driving will remain an option for the average person in the future.
Deletecorrect and enslave us even faster
Delete"You will own nothing and you will be happy."
DeleteOr, Global Reset nonsense from Klaus Schwab.
Actually it is already here.
TODAY no one has title to their car. Instead the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin, the actuall title, is never given to the new buyer because the state dealer has the buyer sign a trust document which is notarized after the buyer walks out. In its stead the state issues a "Certificate of Title" which most mistake for a title.
Possession is 9/10 of the law but now the state has title, right and interest in the vehicle, will force you to get THEIR license and insurance (and vaccination soon too) to drive THEIR property AND they can take it away at any time on a whim and give the vehicle with a new certificate to anyone they please.
It's amazing how many young people today have not read Orwell's "1984".
ReplyDeleteWhile not always on required reading lists most of us had read it in the 1960's. Over the decades I have sadly watched too much of his story line come true. Your car predictions don't sound farfetched at all.
I live in Peoria Az. This a desert community on the North West fringe of Phoenix. There is here an approved residential development plan that has no garages or driveways and minimal street parking. If you are one of those who signed up for the new drivers license thinking it was an expedited airline boarding pass, consider this: Here in Arizona, ADOT's technical description is "Travel Permit". You can expect that within a few years the program will be applied to the Federal Highway System.
ReplyDelete""but within a few years, only a small percentage of us may be allowed to own or operate a vehicle.""
ReplyDeleteright then. i am sure that the oil companies will beg to differ.
or did yalls think that oil companies were somehow ineffectual.
The cigarette companies wanted to sell to who they wanted where they wanted but that has not worked out as well for them as they had hoped. As for big oil companies they have had time to diversify and many will remain in the "energy" business.
DeleteDriver Lisence needed only in urban areas, Out in the woods means nothing they can stop you on the road but not offroad. Offroad you dont need a license at all.
ReplyDeleteBut, I want to go where I want to go, that is the issue.
DeleteI beg to differ. In years past I packed mules in wilderness areas. Whether Federal or state or county you will find that all require a permit to be on "their" lands. Check with the Forest Service or state lands dept. It may be that after control agents for those agencies begin to "Disappear" in disturbing numbers, they might develop a different attitude.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, there was an interesting trial a few years back where a local "smoky" spotted a man having a bit "Too" much fun in his private automobile in his private cornfield. Upon investigation the "Smoky" found the driver to be intoxicated and cited him for "Driving while intoxicated". The man was convicted because the law did not exclude "Off highway" driving!

When you understand how communism works you will see it as war by deception. Under communism the State is your master and you are the slave. Of course the State will stack the deck in its favor. In their schools and through their propaganda machines they will do everything to convince you that you need their license/ permission to exercise your God-given right to liberty, be it "driving" or "barbering" or "plumbing", on and on ad finitum. Under communism the State is your God and you will tithe to them all that they insist on extorting from you. My question is: What will you get from them that you didn't already have? A scrap of paper/ document proving how stupid you are?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct ... No one has a Right to drive.
ReplyDeleteHowever, everyone born in the USA has a Right to Travel you just need to understand the difference.
Driving is a commercial process thus the need for a driver license.
Traveling is a Private process and part of our unalienable Rights.
Its time people begin to understand the difference.
